Manic Monday - Salt Fly Fest Weekend

The crew at the Strip Strike saltwater fly fishing club and Rod & Reel put on another great event down in Bowentown this weekend just been. With a standout weather forecast we popped down to hang out and fish with Lucas Allen from King Tide Salt Fly. The fishing was hard with very few sightings of kings but there were plenty of marauding packs of kahawai to keep things interesting, especially wading the flats with a row of bowwaves coming in on your fly. Thanks to the club for organising another awesome event, the dinner was a hit and it was very cool to catch up with so many people on the water. Plenty of fun was had in the FC535's and they proved that they are the ideal harbour flats machines coupled with the trusty Minn Kota's and Talon shallow water spike anchors.
