Friday Fly Day - Micah Adams Weighs In

So with a lot of crummy weather around at present and less than pleasant temperatures, we asked our brother from another Aussie mother, Micah Adams, for his picks of what will keep the kiwi fish biting, and our anglers smiling.

MICAH'S TAKE ON THINGS

Chubby Chernobyl

Swisher's PMX Peacock

A big dry. Try a Chubby Chernobyl or a Swisher’s PMX. If they eat it you’ll immediately feel warm inside with an ear to ear grin.

Dore's Mr Glister

Dore’s Mr Glister, because if they don’t want to eat, make them attack. Lots of movement, silhouette, and a touch of flash. You purists may feel dirty but a cleansing ale at days end will see that right.

Kyle's Stonefly Brown

Kyle's Stonefly Green

Try a Kyle’s Stonefly. Rubber legs for attention and solid tungsten to get down. If they can see it, they’ll eat it right? Trail it with a smaller natural. Amazing what fish can pick up in higher flows.

Blue Humpy

And after your second streamer caught fish you may feel the need for redemption, so throw those edge water feeders a blue Humpy, my all round favourite NZ dry fly. Trout do rise in discoloured flows you know. Slap it down, twitch it. Get it seen.

The main thing is to get out there this Labour Weekend. Every hour on the water is another added to your life right?
