Friday Fly Day - Mayfly, A Life Story

Too often we assume that everyone already knows what the life cycle of a Mayfly entails but every now and then it's good to revisit the process that gives us our inspiration for the multitude of flies we use to catch trout. From the humble utilitarian pheasant tail, onto a swimming soft hackle, up to a klink in the surface film, then perhaps a wulff dun and finishing with a spent spinner the options are endless. Once you figure out where the hatch is at then your chances of success with the right fly are greatly increased. You're going to need a bigger fly box.
